Big Daddy's Ice Cream first opened its doors in 1976, and has been
serving the public the same good, old fashioned homemade ice cream ever
since. The original Big Daddy (photo on right) started the business in June 1976 with
just a very small building. The ice cream was made in the barn that was attached
to the old house on the property.
In 1981 another small building was added on
and then in 1997 the old barn was moved over and added on to the two
small buildings. The dining room was created and Big Daddy's Ice Cream proudly stands that way today.
The family tradition continues today with daughter Margaret and her husband Dan
running the business. "Big Daddy" would be proud of what has become of his
business today, delighting kids and grownups with ice cream and other
treats.
